The following marks are distinctive, though not exclusive, to the Baptist tradition and will help you understand the great history we stand upon:
Mark #1: Biblical Authority
Mark #2: The Lordship of Christ
Mark #3: Regenerate Church Membership
Mark #4: Church Discipline
Mark #5: Congregational Polity
Mark #6: 2 Ordinances: Baptism by Immersion and the Lord's Supper
Mark #7: Soul Competency/Priesthood of the Believers
Mark #8: Security of the Believer
At CrossPoint, our core beliefs are stated in the Baptist Faith and Message 2000. This statement of Faith details our beliefs concerning God, Jesus Christ, The Holy Spirit, Man, Sin, Salvation, and more. The following statements, hallmarks of the Protestant Reformation, summarize our core beliefs.
#1: Sola Scripture - Scripture Alone
#2: Sola Fide - Faith Alone
#3: Sola Gratia - Grace Alone
#4: Sola Christe - Christ Alone
#5: Sola Deo Gloria - To the Glory of God Alone
To these, there is no compromise. These are etched in scripture and we hold them up highly. For those negotiable tenets we turn to our Baptist Faith and Message to guide us. To be sure, we desire to hold a high view of God as sovereign over all and our desire is to lift up His name to the nations.
As a church, CrossPoint is first and foremost a local, autonomous community of believers that meet at this location to be a part of building God's Kingdom. As a church, we have voluntarily decided to be a part of the Faulkner Baptist Association, the Arkansas Baptist State Convention, and the Southern Baptist Convention.
